Parents looking for things to do with their kids this Easter might want to try a traditional egg hunt, suggests MyChild.co.uk.
A recent study conducted on behalf of the British Heart Foundation found that most parents rated taking part in fitness activities with their kids as very important, but the majority only managed to do little exercise together during the week because of differing interests.
Amy Schofield, editor of education and parenting website MyChild.co.uk, said there are plenty ways of getting kids active during the forthcoming Easter holidays without having to spend too much cash.
"Easter egg hunts are always great fun whether you're eight or 80! Go to your local market and buy a couple of bags of foil wrapped hollow chocolate eggs that are cheap, then hide them around the house and garden and get the kids to find them," she advised.
If the weather is bad and parents do not fancy having the kids running riot in their houses then they can take their young ones to indoor soft play centres, as these provide a safe fun environment for children to exercise in.
