How to cope with the pressure of being a working dad
Date: 22/12/2010 / Category: School holidays and working parents
Working Dads can feel pulled in all directions, especially around Christmas time when there are so many family events on.
A lot of the time, the pressures on fathers with full time jobs are not taken into consideration, despite the fact that it can be equally as difficult being a working dad as being a working mum.
Netmums offers support for working fathers, including advice on how to feel less divided between work and home.
One idea is to allocate one hour a day to play with the kids with the interruption of phones or TV.
Another thing working parents can do is to allocate half a day off from childcare each week which is valuable for stress relief and spending time doing exactly what they want.
Agreeing how often you can both go out with your friends is likely to save a lot of hassle in the future too.
