Kids 'prefer pricy presents' to time with parents

Four in ten children would rather receive an expensive present for Christmas than have the undivided attention of their parents, a survey has revealed.

Researchers found that 13 million British children would give up time with their parents to receive a new games console, puppy or bike.

The poll of 2,000 kids, to mark the launch of the pre-school TV show Waybuloo on DVD, also found that nine out of ten kids would like to get lots of expensive presents as well as be able to spend all day with their parents.

A spokesman for Waybuloo said: ''Luckily the majority of children see their parents all the time, which is why they take their attentions for granted rather than appreciating all the hours their parents put in."

She added that, if kids gave the question more thought they would choose their mum and dad over computer games, ponies or puppies.

An excellent way for parents to have fun and spend time with their children is to take them to an indoor Christmas party, such as the ones held at Gambado soft play centres.ADNFCR-2594-ID-19486475-ADNFCR
