Coping with Christmas: Advice from mums
Date: 08/12/2010 / Category: Kids party ideas
Christmas can be a stressful time for parents, but one website has offered some advice on getting through the season and keeping your festive cheer.
Mumsnet's readers said that Christmas should always be about the kids, and shrewd choice of presents - such as a Christmas edition of their favourite comic - can keep them occupied for hours if they wake up early on the big day.
Meanwhile, preparing the dinner well in advance can save stress on Christmas day, and organising a long-running party game at the crucial time will keep little feet out of the kitchen until you are ready to eat.
In the run-up to Christmas, why not treat them to an early festive treat with an indoor Christmas party at a soft play centre for kids?
Finally, the Guardian newspaper's Dr Luisa Dillner has this advice: "Regular amounts of Yuletide stress can be dealt with by yoga, nipping out for a walk, jog or swim or by having a warm bath."
